In Bahrain, the tourism law of 1986 lists furnished apartments let by the day or the week as a tourism service, and no tourism service may operate without a licence — today issued by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA). Under BTEA's rules, serviced apartments sit in standalone or commercial buildings within approved tourism or commercial zones, and licensed establishments pay BTEA fees each quarter. Letting a flat in an ordinary residential building is not part of that licensed model, so check with BTEA first. Mekavo Stay keeps your licence number on the place, where your page can show it, and gives guests their arrival information in their language.
Mekavo is software, not a regulator. Licensing and fees are BTEA's under Decree-Law No. 15 of 1986 on tourism. Ask BTEA whether your building and zone qualify before you take your first booking.
