In Oman, no one may run tourist accommodation without a licence from the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, and the Ministry has warned hosts who advertise unlicensed villas and flats online. A new Executive Regulation of the Tourism Law took effect on 17 April 2026, with a 60-day deadline for the Ministry to decide on applications. Licensed places must show their licence number at the property and on their websites and social media listings. Mekavo Stay keeps your licence number on the place, so your booking page shows it.
Mekavo is software, not a regulator. Licences come from the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism under the Tourism Law and its 2026 Executive Regulation. Check with the Ministry whether your villa or flat can be licensed before you advertise it.
