This Cookie Policy explains how USK DIGITAL LTD (trading as "Mekavo") uses cookies, local storage, and similar tracking technologies on the Mekavo Fleet platform — our fleet management service for businesses operating multiple vehicles.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit our platform. They help keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and let us understand how the Fleet dashboard is used. Cookies are either "session" (removed when you close your browser) or "persistent" (retained until expiry or you delete them). Mekavo Fleet also uses local storage and IndexedDB to cache vehicle lists, inspection templates, and offline inspection drafts so drivers can keep working in poor signal.
2. Cookies We Use
2.1 Strictly Necessary
These cookies are essential for the Fleet platform to function. They cannot be disabled.

2.2 Functional
These cookies remember your preferences so the platform behaves the way you expect on each visit.

2.3 Analytics
Anonymised analytics help us understand how the Fleet product is used and what to improve. No personal data (name, licence number, vehicle registration) is sent to analytics providers.

3. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are set by third-party services that Mekavo Fleet uses:
- Stripe — anti-fraud cookies during the fleet subscription checkout
- Google Analytics — only with your consent, as described in section 2.3
- Firebase — service-worker storage used to deliver push notifications to fleet managers and drivers
We do not allow third-party advertising cookies on the Fleet platform. Driver data, inspection results and compliance records are never shared with advertisers.
4. Mobile & Push Notifications
Mekavo Fleet delivers push notifications (inspection due, defect raised, compliance alert) through Firebase Cloud Messaging. When a fleet manager or driver enables notifications, a device token is stored against their user record. This token is not a cookie, but works similarly — it lets us reach that specific device.
- You can disable push notifications at any time from your device's notification settings
- You can also revoke notification permission from your Mekavo account settings — all tokens for your account will be removed
- SMS reminders sent via Twilio do not use cookies, but you can disable them per notification type under Settings → Notifications
5. Managing Cookies
You can manage cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Privacy, Search and Services → Cookies
If you disable strictly necessary cookies, the Fleet dashboard will not work — you will be signed out and unable to submit inspections or view vehicles.
6. Cookie Consent
When you first load the Fleet platform, a consent banner asks for permission to use non-essential cookies (functional and analytics). Your options:
- Accept all — enables all categories
- Reject non-essential — only strictly necessary cookies are used
- Manage preferences — choose categories individually
You can change your decision at any time by clicking "Cookie Settings" in the footer.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as the Fleet product changes. Material updates will be posted here with a revised "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we will also notify active fleet managers by email.
