1. Free My Mekavo Account
This Refund Policy explains when and how you can request a refund for payments made to USK DIGITAL LTD (trading as Mekavo) through your vehicle owner account.
The standard My Mekavo account is free. There is nothing to refund for the free tier — service records, documents, fuel tracker, email reminders and basic inspections are included at no cost.
2. VIP Subscriptions (Individual)
VIP unlocks SMS reminders, vehicle lookups and priority features. VIP subscriptions are billed annually via Stripe.
- Within 14 days of first payment, no service used: Full refund available if you have not used any included credits (vehicle lookups or SMS reminders). This applies to your first VIP payment only.
- Service used: If you have used any included vehicle lookups or sent SMS reminders, the digital service is considered consumed and the VIP payment is non-refundable. By using these services you consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
- After 14 days: No pro-rata refunds for the remaining days in your billing period. You retain VIP access until the end of the current billing period.
- Cancellation: You can cancel any time from Settings > VIP or via the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
3. Fleet Subscriptions
Fleet plans are charged per vehicle, billed monthly via Stripe. Refund treatment matches the VIP rules above:
- Within 14 days of first payment, no inspections completed: Full refund available if your fleet has not yet completed any digital inspection or used any included credit.
- Service used: If any driver has completed an inspection, logged a defect, or used any credits, the monthly fleet payment is non-refundable.
- Adding/removing vehicles mid-cycle: Stripe automatically pro-rates additions. Removed vehicles are billed for the remainder of the current cycle.
- Cancellation: Cancel from Settings > Fleet or the Stripe billing portal. Access continues until the end of the current month.
4. Service Usage & Refund Eligibility
By starting a paid VIP or Fleet subscription you acknowledge and agree that:
- Using any included service credit (vehicle lookups, SMS reminders, fleet inspections) constitutes consumption of the digital service
- Once consumed, those services cannot be refunded under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013
- This is communicated at the point of purchase and before any payment is taken
- If you are unsure, the standard My Mekavo account is free — try it first before upgrading to VIP or Fleet
This policy is designed to be fair to both parties: the free tier lets you evaluate the portal at no cost, and consumed digital services cannot be "returned".
5. Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in this Refund Policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer. Depending on your country of residence, additional protections may apply:
- United Kingdom: Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013
- European Union: Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights and equivalent national implementations
- Spain: Ley General para la Defensa de los Consumidores y Usuarios
- Germany: Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch (BGB) consumer provisions
Where the protections of your country of residence are stronger than the rules above, those protections apply.
6. How to Request a Refund
The fastest way to request a refund is from inside your account:
- Sign in to your My Mekavo dashboard and open Notifications > Contact Support
- Send a message with the subject "Refund Request"
- Tell us which payment you are requesting a refund for and the reason
- Our team will review and reply directly within the conversation

7. Processing Time
- We aim to review all refund requests within 3 business days
- Approved refunds are issued via Stripe to your original payment method
- Refunds typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer
- When a refund is processed, any associated VIP or fleet access is removed immediately
8. Exceptions
We reserve the right to refuse a refund in the following cases:
- The request is made after the eligible 14-day refund period
- Any included credits or features have already been used
- The account was terminated due to a violation of our Terms of Use
- Fraudulent or abusive refund behaviour is detected
In exceptional circumstances (e.g., service outage, billing error), we may issue goodwill refunds or credits at our discretion.
