Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion:
- Your personal data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we are required to do so by law.
13. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.
14. Smart Tags
A Mekavo smart tag is a QR code you put on something you own. Whoever finds it can scan it and send you a message, without seeing your phone number, email or address. This section applies to everyone who activates a tag and to everyone who prints and sells tags.
14.1 If you activate a tag
- A tag becomes yours when you activate it with the PIN printed with it. Keep the PIN private until then: whoever activates the tag first becomes its owner.
- Activating a tag means you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not have a Mekavo account yet, activating creates one.
- Messages reach you as notifications from the Mekavo app. Install it from the App Store or Google Play, sign in and allow notifications. If you do not install it, or turn notifications off, messages wait in your account until you open Mekavo. Keep your contact details up to date. We pass messages on, but we cannot promise that anyone will find your item, scan the tag or reach you. Do not rely on a tag in an emergency.
- Only put a tag on something that is yours or that you look after. Do not use tags to follow, watch or bother anyone.
- You can block a sender. We may hold back messages that our automated checks mark as spam or abuse.
- The tag and its service are free. If you bought a printed tag from a seller, that sale is between you and the seller, and any question about the physical tag goes to them.
14.2 If you print and sell tags
- You are the seller. The price, the print quality, delivery, returns, tax and the consumer law of the countries you sell in are your responsibility. Mekavo is not part of your sale and receives no money from it.
- Making tags is free. The number of unsold tags you may hold at once is shown in your reseller panel, and we may change it. It grows with your trust: one point for each real, different person who activates and uses one of your tags, with a phone they verified with us and the Mekavo app on their phone. A person counts once, however many tags they own. Tags activated by you, on your devices or by accounts you control never count.
- Your trust level (Bronze, Silver or Gold, never the number) may be shown to buyers on your shop page and on the page where they activate your tags.
- Buyers and finders can report a tag or its seller to Mekavo. We check every report, and we never tell the seller who reported. A report we uphold lowers your trust. If we confirm fraud, your trust and your limit go back to the start.
- One account per person. We may cancel unsold tags, lower your limit or close your reseller account if tags are misused, if buyers are misled, or if these Terms are broken.
- We keep activated tags working for as long as we run the smart tag service. If we change or stop the service, we will tell resellers first, in the app or by email.
- If nobody scans or activates a tag within 90 days of it being made, the tag rests. We tell you 30 days before, and you can keep a batch once for 60 more days. A resting tag no longer counts against your limit but still works: the first scan by a buyer wakes it up. Its code is never given to anyone else.
- These Terms, together with the limits shown in your reseller panel, are the whole arrangement between you and Mekavo. Mekavo does not sign separate supply, partner, agency or reseller contracts.
- To make tags, you tell us who you are: your full name and the address where you work, and whether you are a business (with its registration, or why there is none) or an individual. You prove a WhatsApp number and check in on it every 30 days, use the Mekavo app with notifications on, and confirm once with your phone's location that you are at that address. Keep these details true and up to date.
- To hold more than the first 300 tags, you send us one short live video of the tags you make, showing the code we give you for it, a printed QR code, how "Powered by Mekavo" appears, how buyers receive the tags, and where you work. Only Mekavo sees it; we keep it for 12 months.
14.3 Using the Mekavo name on tags
- You may print "Powered by Mekavo" and the tag's QR code exactly as Mekavo gives them to you.
- You may not call the product "made by Mekavo" or a "Mekavo label", use Mekavo as your own brand, or say you are a Mekavo partner, agent or official seller.
- You may not change the QR code or send it anywhere other than the address Mekavo gives it.
- We may ask you to change packaging or listings that break these rules.
15. Shops and Restaurants
This section applies to everyone who sells through Mekavo as a shop, a restaurant, a takeaway or a café — with the till, your own page, online orders, table orders or deliveries.
- You are the seller. Your prices, your products and how you describe them, allergen, ingredient and labelling information, opening hours, deliveries, refunds, and the consumer, food and tax law where you trade are your responsibility. Mekavo provides the tools and is not part of your sale.
- Card payments from your customers go to your own account with the payment provider shown in your settings (for example Stripe). Mekavo takes no commission on your sales; the provider's own fees apply. Cash and other payments are between you and your customer.
- Orders hold your customers' names, phone numbers, delivery addresses and notes. Use them only to serve those orders. Mekavo processes them on your behalf.
- The people you add to your team, such as staff or riders, see only what their role allows. You decide who you add and what they can do.
- Do not sell anything that is illegal where you trade, and do not mislead buyers. Customers can report a listing and automated checks may flag one for a person to review; we may suspend a shop that breaks these rules.
