Under HVNL, every party in the supply chain shares safety responsibility. Digital daily checks with photo evidence prove your fleet takes CoR seriously. Free up to 3 vehicles.
NHVR-aligned templates for trucks, trailers, buses, and light vehicles. Photo evidence. Meets Heavy Vehicle National Law requirements.
Drivers report defects from their phone. Major, minor and critical classification. Supports Chain of Responsibility obligations.
NHVR expects evidence of "reasonable steps." Your dashboard shows every daily check, every defect resolved, every vehicle maintained. That's your CoR defence documented.
Onboard drivers, assign rigs, set up yard checks. Whether your drivers run Melbourne to Sydney or do local metro deliveries, everyone follows the same process.
Registered in NSW but operating in QLD and VIC? Each vehicle tracks rego by state, roadworthy dates, CTP, and service schedules independently.
Australian conditions are brutal on heavy vehicles. Dust, heat, long hauls — keep every service, repair, and tyre change documented with photos and timestamps.
NHVR-aligned inspection templates, Chain of Responsibility compliance, rego tracking, and fleet management for Australian roads.
Daily checks, trailer inspections, fatigue management support — CoR compliant.
Plant pre-start checks, excavator inspections, ute and truck daily walkarounds.
Van daily checks, odo tracking, multi-driver vehicle assignments.
Bus daily checks, accessibility inspections, school bus templates.
Fire trucks, ambulances, council vehicles — specialised templates for the public sector.
Heavy Vehicle National Law puts the Chain of Responsibility on every party to a transport activity — managers, schedulers, dispatchers, even consignors. When something goes wrong, the question is: who knew, who should have known, and where is the evidence? Mekavo seals each pre-start, defect and driver record as it happens.
Administers the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) across NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, TAS and ACT — Chain of Responsibility, Fatigue, Mass/Dimension/Loading, and Vehicle Standards.
Voluntary accreditation across Maintenance Management, Mass Management and Basic/Advanced Fatigue. NHVAS members must be able to demonstrate documented systems that work — a lapse in evidence can mean removal.
NSW Transport, VicRoads, QLD TMR, WA DoT — administer registration, inspection schemes (e.g. NSW HVI, Queensland COI), and roadside enforcement on top of HVNL.
Work health and safety duties for vehicle operations — particularly relevant for forklifts, mobile plant and on-site driving where the WHS Act primary duty of care applies.
Fuel Tax Credits, FBT on fleet vehicles, and the audit trail for these — your inspection and mileage records can be subpoenaed.
Every party to a transport activity has a primary duty under HVNL to ensure safety so far as is reasonably practicable. A pre-start inspection that wasn't done — or can't be proved was done — is the gap a CoR investigation walks through. Mekavo seals each pre-start at the moment of completion: driver identity, photos, geolocation, mileage. Cannot be back-filled.
Under HVNL §26C-26F, executive officers can be personally prosecuted when their company breaches CoR — not the truck driver. A maintenance defect that contributed to an incident, with no documented pre-start regime, becomes a personal liability for the manager, the scheduler, sometimes the consignor.
