Most fleet AI products will recommend densifying your routes when a driver finishes early — even when the underlying reason is speeding. Some platforms sell that recommendation as their headline feature.

Mekavo's risk-aware AI is hard-coded to refuse it. When telemetry shows a speeding pattern, a fatigue alert, or aggressive driving, our system is structurally prevented from recommending more stops, route densification, or shift extensions — regardless of what the variance numbers superficially support.

Daily pre-trip / pre-shift inspection (NRTA + RTMS SANS 1395)

The NRTA places the duty on the operator to ensure roadworthy condition; RTMS accreditation requires documented daily pre-trip inspections by qualified drivers. Mekavo seals each pre-trip with photos, geolocation, mileage and driver identity at submission. The seal is independently verifiable — RTMS auditors, insurers, or court-appointed experts can re-verify without trusting the operator.

RTMS DEACCREDITATION / OPERATOR CARD SUSPENSION

Loss of RTMS accreditation locks you out of contracts with the major SA shippers (Sappi, Mondi, Anglo, Pick n Pay) overnight. An Operator Card suspension under the NRTA grounds vehicles. Cross-border permit refusal at C-BRTA stops SADC freight. Insurance premiums spike or cover lapses.

In post-incident litigation and DoEL enforcement, the standard challenge from plaintiffs and inspectors is the pre-trip / maintenance record paired with driver qualifications. A spreadsheet filled in after the fact does not survive cross-examination at the High Court. A SHA-256-sealed entry with EXIF-bound photos and OTP-verified driver identity does — and re-verification is independent of the operator.
